John Edward Ellis grew up in West Africa, Europe, and the Northeastern United States. His work has been featured in African Writer Magazine, Relief Journal, Kalahari Review, Able Muse Review, Ginosko Literary Journal, Embodied Effigies Magazine, and other journals. Ellis studied under award-winning writers Sarah Manguso and Joyce Maynard at Saint Mary’s College of California, where he was a graduate fellow and veteran scholarship recipient.
