I open up a book and hear
The old things ringing true
A curse unworked, a spell unspun
The world now forms anew
Tales whisper in the depths of me
Tracing a fair, forgotten dream
An inkling that the earth's been sown
With more delights than we've yet known
Myths dig holes in human souls
With glimmer, hint, and ache
For life that's brimming like the dawn
Bright fortunes now to wake
The far-off beat of dragon wings
And glinting treasures in the deep.
The words with hidden powers leap—
Baring the scarred and sacred things
I read so that my heart may grow
Cavernous, to hoard
The vast and sundry workings of
My inked, incarnate Lord
