surround a Man who sits the Throne of thrones!
A Man – with forty-six chromosomes,
ten fingers, and ten toes! Hallelujah
to Him who has a human butt, two human
eyes, a bearded jaw, and a Jewish nose!
When dancing with that swaggered locomotion,
His man-gait loosens endless alleluias!
Where wings must busy themselves shielding eyes —
where sonnets blare and songs of Worthy! roar…
When He sees us —
He’ll hop off His Father’s throne,
wrap us in His arms and musk — and recite,
in Adam’s tongue, our most ancient poem:
At last! The flesh of my flesh, and the bone of my bone!
